Iron Man

Iron Man, 2008 film starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard.  Excellent start to the iron man franchise.  It gives you a clear and precise story of how iron man came to be.  Tony Stark (Downey Jr), a billionaire weapons maker is captured by terrorists in Afghanistan and ordered to build them one of his missile systems for them.

Instead he decides to build a metal armor so that he may escape their clutches. (Though I don’t know how someone could have built what he did in a cave)    So the suit he builds actually works (better than expected) and he escapes.  Through his ordeal he decides that his company will no longer make weapons and will concentrate on a cleaner energy with a generator/reactor that he invented along with perfecting his new suit.  Of course there are those that still want weapons and he is betrayed by someone close to him.  He must now use his suit to fight evil.

As I just came back from Los Angeles myself and actually saw the house that was used in Iron Man I decided to re-visit the series.  I’m glad I did.  I ended up watching all three in one sitting, they were that good.  You will see the other two reviews soon.  Great cast choice, great visuals, I could find no fault to this film.  I also enjoyed the tie in to the Avengers with the SHEILD recruitment.  Great Job.
