America’s Sweethearts

America’s Sweethearts, 2001 film starring Julia RobertsJohn CusackBilly Crystal, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hank Azaria and Christopher Walken.  Funny story with the perfect actors in it.

A movie publicist must try to get divorced, super Hollywood acting couple back into the same room and resort for the world premier of their last movie together. The breakup is a bit nasty though and resort is filled with press.  Then comes Kiki (Roberts), the sister and slave to super actor Gwen (Jones) who Eddie (Cusack) seems to be falling for.

This is not comedy gold but it is comedy entertainment!  I enjoyed the pairing of Jones and Cusack in this comedy. (Who new Cusack could be funny!)  Of course Billy Crystal is and will always be one of the premier funny men.  The story was pretty good and the film contained no fancy visuals that  explode film budgets.  The scenes were simple, people in places and a good story.  Worth a watch if you haven’t seen this yet but also worth a ‘Watch Again’ when you are in the mood for some comedy on a rainy day.
