Father Goose, 1964 film starring Cary Grant, Leslie Caron and Trevor Howard. Classic comedy about a loner with a penchant for whiskey who is forced by the British Navy to live on an isolated island and spot & report all Japanese aircraft comings and goings during WW2.
Soon Walter (Grant) rescues a teacher with her 7 girls in tow who were abandoned on another island when the Japs took over. Now he is forced to live with eight straight laced females who have hidden all his whiskey, all the while trying to spot planes and fix his damaged boat.
The result is a great funny adventure that really entertained me. I do like revisiting classic movies, movies from a time where they really cared about quality films and real people. One of Grant’s better works.
