Jumanji : Welcome To The Jungle, 2017 film starring Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart Jack Black and Nick Jonas. Based off the 1995 hit with Robin Williams this time it is about 4 teens who get into trouble at school and end up in detention together. While there they discover a 20 year old game system and decide to play that to use up the time.
Suddenly they are sucked into the game and become the characters they chose. In a twist of fate, the thin, nerdy geek is turned into the muscular hero (Johnson) and the most popular, snubnose girl is turned into a fat, pudgy man (Black). The new team of 4 must find a blue jewel and return it to the Jaguar statue and yell out ‘Jumanji’, that being the only way they can get back to the real world. Along the way they meet up with Alex (Jonas), a boy who disapeared 20 years prior. Now they band together to finish the game.
Ok, my take… Not bad. I started watching thinking it would be like the first but it came out better. The visuals were great and the acting was good (except maybe the younger versions of the players). At one point in the begining I thought I was going to turn it off but I kept with it and am glad I did. Not worthy of my collection of ‘Watch Again’ but a good film never the less.
