Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can, 2002 film starring Leonardo DiCaprioTom HanksChristopher Walken.  Very entertaining true story of Americas worst (and youngest) check fraud criminal.

DiCaprio plays Frank Abagnale Jr., a man that defrauded banks of over 4 million dollars before he even turned nineteen years old.  He did all this while pretending to be a Pan Am pilot, a doctor and a lawyer!  Hanks plays Carl Hanratty, the FBI agent he had been chasing Frank from the moment he started.

As I said, this was very entertaining, early DiCaprio was so good at acting.  Add the names Hanks and Walken, you just can not go wrong.  We also saw early Amy Adams giving a great performance in this film.  I loved how the kid did it all innocently for the sake of a family that was already broken up.  He actually didn’t think he was hurting anyone!  The visuals were great, they really did a top notch job of making it look like the sixties from the cars, the clothing to the hairstyles etc.  This film was directed by Steven Spielberg who, lets face it, can not make a bad movie.  With his ideas, actor choices and even the cool animated opening made this film a brilliant film that will survive the test of time.  I heartily recommend this film, this has now been my third watching of it since I bought the dvd,  fantastic job!
