The Mule

The Mule, 2018 film starring Clint Eastwood, Patrick L. Reyes and Cesar De León.  An excellent Eastwood film!

Earl Stone (Eastwood) is a man in his eighties who is facing foreclosure on his business and home because he is broke.  Add to that he has never been there for his family when they need him.  He is offered a job to just drive.  No questions asked, just drive and do not look at the cargo.  He accepts and after the first run realizes that not only could he save his home, he could finally be able to help his family and others in need.  He takes a second run, a third and so on.  Earl does well, so well that he not only catches the eye of the drug lord but he is now wanted by the DEA.

This was a very well made film and the story was great.  I always enjoy a good Eastwood star in and directed by film.  He is looking rather old now though but man, he is still going strong.  As an actor he made me feel for his character and even though he was breaking the law, I was routing for him all the way.

The supporting cast really helped solidify this film as a great, watch again type film.  The character was not an innocent man, nor naive by any means but you could not help but love him.  This film is worthy of my see again shelf and if you get a chance to see it, do so.  Thumbs up all the way.
