The Enemy Below

The Enemy Below, 1957 film starring Robert MitchumCurt Jürgens and David Hedison.  Great world war 2 flick made in the prime days of classic Hollywood.  This is when they new how to make movies.

The American destroyer, USS Haynes during world war two stumble upon the signal of a uboat.  The captain (Mitchum), fresh off a previous ship sinking, decides they will track and go after this sub.  The captain soon realizes that the captain of the German sub (Jurgens) was just as smart as he is and it was going to be quite a battle to see who takes victory at the end of the day.

I have nothing bad to say about this superb classic film.  It was made on a US Navy vessel (obviously except when it is destroyed) and the acting was great.  Definitely a ‘Watch Again’ film for me.  Check it out, it’s a good one.
