It’s the story, not sure if it’s true, of Joan Jett (Stewart) and Cherie Currie (Fanning) and how they formed their very first all girl band in 1975. The trials and tribulations of what the 15 year old girls went through in though’s times. Drugs, sex and alcohol were prevalent back then and the group was no different than others, who let it take over.
I thought this film was pretty good. It gave you a look back at what women faced back then in the business. It also gave me the story behind Joan Jett, who’s music I listened to back then. Fanning played her role very well I thought. Her portrayal of Currie was spot on, at least that what I remembered seventies rock to look like. Stewart was good as Jett, makeup artists can do wonderful things. Watch it though, this film is full of language that will offend some, not me though. Probably why they classed it as restricted. In all, very good telling of a group I knew of and a singer that I still follow today. Great job.
