When her husband Bill (Noah Emmerich) is shot by the Bishop Boys gang and still hunted by them Jane (Portman) asks her former fiance Dan (Edgerton) to help her defend her family from the gang. He does, with a few surprises as well.
As westerns go, this was good. The story was very good. It’s hard to come up with fresh stories from the wild west. The film moved along at a slower pace than needed but Portman and Edgeton bonded well together in this movie. It’s kind of hit and miss with Portman but in this one she shinned. The scenery and costumes were period accurate and all looked good. I enjoyed the film and was thoroughly entertained by it and yes, if in the mood for a western again one day I would watch it again. I say good job, even though the critics were not kind about the film.
